Charley Hull Opens Up About a Painful Split From Her Ex-Husband — A Rare, Emotional Insight 😢⛳ Charley Hull has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of her separation, offering a rare glimpse into how the experience shaped her both on and off the course.

Charley Hull broke many hearts when she got married. Many questioned her decision to tie the knot with MMA fighter John “Ozzie” Smith, a man 14 years older than her. But her divorce after around two years shocked many more people, as the couple seemed to be really happy at one point. Hull hasn’t talked about the separation ever since it happened. Until now, that is.

Gabby Herzig, a journalist at The Athletic, recently shed light on the issue as she convinced Hull to discuss the topic for the first time. And she didn’t hold back. “I could go back and say, I wish it never happened, but I actually feel like I’m glad it happened because it makes me the person I am today,” Hull confessed as she understands that the experience moulded her strong character today. “You’ve got two choices in life: bad things can make you weak, or they can make you stronger. And you definitely want to be stronger,” she added.

The Englishwoman definitely came out strong from the experience and not just in terms of physical strength, which is clearly visible. Her incredible fortitude has helped her conquer what might have been impossible for others. Even during her triumph at TPC River’s Bend, Hull admitted that she fought through pain in the first round of the event.

However, the tough times also took something from her. As Hull confessed, she faced anxiety and picked up bad habits. She started vaping and slowly became dependent on it before switching to smoking. But she was still able to cope with it in her own way. “I’m pretty old school, like my family are. Ok, cool, you’ve been through a bad time? Just move on, deal with it, deal with it, deal with it,” Hull said as she focused on moving on in her life.
