Florida has executed Chadwick Scott Willisy, a man who spent 35 years on death row for the brutal murder of his neighbor, Marus May Sather. Willisy was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. after a lethal injection, marking the end of a lengthy legal battle surrounding his case.
The execution took place at Florida State Prison, where Willisy, who had undergone a spiritual transformation during his time in prison, faced his final moments with a calm demeanor.
