SHARP ACCUSATION — The View’s Joy Behar sparked instant backlash after declaring President Trump hasn’t done “one thing” for “poor people,” slamming him as news emerged about proposed $1 million immigration visas.

President Trump has officially rolled out the $1 million Trump Gold Card, which offers an expedited permanent visa for immigrants. But Joy Behar and her View co-hosts were not particularly impressed with this, stating it will “prioritize” wealthier immigrants who are willing to dole out $1 million. The View: Joy Behar Names Worst Moment From Trump's Address

After Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out the price point will allow wealthy people to “jump in front of other people who have been waiting in the system,” Behar asked, “What is the last thing he did for poor people?”

According to CNN, the Trump Gold Card “will allow foreigners to pay $1 million to expedite their visa application, or have companies pay $2 million to sponsor a foreign worker they want to bring into the US.” This comes after President Trump complained about immigrants coming from what he described as “shithole countries,” pointing directly to Somalia, which he said was “filthy, dirty, disgusting, ridden with crime,” per NBC News.

Behar seemed skeptical of the Trump Gold Card. “Let’s wait to see f Haitians can do it, and Somalians can do it, and Nigerians can do it and then we’ll see if he means what he says,” she commented.

Griffin shared that her “biggest” issue with the Trump Gold Card is the optics, pointing out that the $1 million price point is quite low compared to other countries.

“The branding makes it look like America is for sale,” she said. “This is something that exists in other countries. I actually think one million is fairly low considering there are a lot of people who can pay to do that overnight and they’re going to jump in front of other people who have been waiting in the system to come in.”

“I don’t like the optics of it. I think there’s a clear priority of immigrants should come in,” she continued. Griffin explained that she believes the country should “prioritize asylum seekers and refugees.”The View: Alyssa Farah Griffin Admits She Voted for Harris

Sara Haines also complained that the Trump Gold Card would prioritize the wealthy at a point when there is a growing class divide.

“We don’t need more people at the top. The problem here is the top is so heavy in this country,” she said. “We need the people that do the work, not the ones that skip the line because they’ve got a lot of money.”

Behar’s comments come soon after Whoopi Goldberg made a similar comment, questioning what the president has done for the American people.

“His personal stuff, I could care less [about],” she began. “I want to know, what are you doing for us? You said you were gonna be the president for everybody, but you haven’t been the president for anybody. You’ve been the president just for you.”The View' edits out Sara Haines' real ATM PIN after Oz Pearlman revealed it on air

Goldberg continued, “He said he was our president. He’s not our president. He’s a guy who likes to get butt-kissed. That’s what he is. I need you to be the president, or your legacy—what’s left of it—is gonna disappear and you will just be a footnote like gas in the desert.”
